How to improve on jazz improvisation on the saxophone?

I play the saxophone in my high school intermediate B jazz band and in a year or so, I'll be in the senior jazz band. Is there anyway to improve playing the sax. I practice regularly (the different chords, modes, pentatonics, blues and some songs). I got the Charlie Parker omnibook which was recommended by a lot of people. I listen to some solos on Youtube sometimes. I really want to improve on my improvisation, but the only thing that I'm struggling with is voice leading and chaining the chords together to make it smoother.
Is there a book that can help me with this?

Ya definitely just keep doing what you are doing. Practicing scales is perfect. Get as many scales perfectly under your fingers as you can. After this step, what really helped me with voice leading was practicing "ii7 V7 I" licks. Jamey Aebersold has a great book entitled, simply, The II-V7-I Progression. This has a huge list of cool patterns that lead from the minor two, to the dominant five, to the major one. A two five one lick is basically an awesome pattern that "voice-leads" really well. What You Want to do is find an easy two five one lick, and memorize it in ALL TWELVE KEYS!!! This one lick, when totally under your fingers in every key, will help your improvising IMMENSELY. You can simply play the lick over a two-five-one when one appears, or modify it/build off of it. The goal is to memorize as many two five ones as you can, in all twelve keys. This will facilitate better technique, better voice leading and much more interesting playing (so you are 'jumping around' a little bit, not just playing scales). After learning the easier two-five-ones, go on to some harder ones, which go outside of the keys a little bit. They give you more of that be-bop sound.
