_Jake Owen's latest sultry hit,__ 'Alone With You,' __was initially inspired
by the title of Augusten Burroughs' raucous 2002 memoir, 'Running With
Scissors.' The tune was originally envisioned by many in Music City as a song
for a female act. But one of its writers pictured just the opposite.

When Jake heard the tune and liked it, an instant smash was born. The song was
just certified gold for sales of 500,000, and is Jake's second hit from his
chart-topping CD, 'Barefoot Blue Jean Night.' The Boot uncovers the story
behind the song from its three writers, Shane McAnally, JT Harding and Catt
Gravitt._

thought that would be a cool song lyric, and that it would be a metaphor for
being in a relationship that was bad for you. Ultimately, we wrote the line
"you've got me running with scissors down the hall, and I know it could kill
